Although playing Dead by Daylight alone is fine, playing it with friends is – for us anyway – the most fun. A feature that had been on many players’ wishlists for quite some time finally arrived with the introduction of crossplay in 2020 for BHVR – play with friends cross-platform!
It now allows you to play as either a survivor or the killer, as you flee or hunt down your friends whether they are on PC or console. Where do you start when it comes to adding friends cross-platform?
Are you able to play with your friends on your mobile device? If you want to queue as a solo player against other players on your chosen platform only, how do you turn crossplay off?

Is Dead By Daylight Crossplay?
It was announced in August 2020 that Dead by Daylight would receive full cross-platform support. The Stadia version of Dead by Daylight, which is set to launch later this year, will also have additional support from BHVR.
HOW TO ADD FRIENDS ON DEAD BY DAYLIGHT CROSS-PLATFORM
The game is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and the Microsoft Store. Dead by Daylight friends can be added in just a few clicks:
- You can see your friends list by opening it
- You can add friends by clicking the + icon in the top right corner of the list
- The four-digit hashtag will be displayed in the top left corner of the list when you type in the full username of your friend.
- Send an invitation to a friend by clicking ‘invite a friend’
- Your application will be accepted once it has been approved
DEAD BY DAYLIGHT MOBILE CROSSPLAY
There is currently limited cross-platform support for Dead by Daylight on mobile devices. Android and iOS players can play together, but PC and console players cannot.
HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH FRIENDS CROSS-PLATFORM ON DEAD BY DAYLIGHT
In view of the fact that in-game communication is handled by the online services of each platform (PSN, Xbox Live, etc.), we would recommend the use of a third-party program such as Discord, which can be installed both on PCs and mobile devices.
The Discord application allows you to add your friends to a private call, or even create a dedicated server where you can plan your upcoming Dead by Daylight session with your friends.
HOW TO TURN OFF DEAD BY DAYLIGHT CROSSPLAY
By going into your settings, selecting the ‘Online’ category, and unchecking ‘cross-play’, you can choose to queue up only against other players on your chosen platform.
It’s recommended to keep crossplay enabled, though, since limiting the number of players you can play with will significantly slow down your queue times. Please be aware of this.
